course/pre-requisite planning software?

I'm thinking of double majoring and trying to work a schedule out of all the pre-requisites, co-requisites, requirements, electives, classes only offered once a year, etc. is proving to be a huge pain in the butt. I'm wondering if there is any software out there that would allow me to create classes I'm planning on taking, set their pre-requisites etc., and maybe a sort of drag and drop interface to create a schedule. Or, alternatively, the easiest language to make a program to do something like that in. I can learn new programming languages easily enough, I just don't have enough knowledge of different languages to know which one would be the easiest one for this sort of job.

I simply used the course bulletin and an excel spreadsheet and did it without much else. It's not nearly as difficult as you're making it out to be, so long as you have check lists to make sure you're covering everything (ie graduation requirements).

Biggest tip - start with the courses that are immovable.

Second - realize that without having any idea at what time courses will be offered 2 semesters from now, you're bound to run into scheduling problems that you can't get past, thus ruining all your work.

I agree. Using a spreadsheet is the easiest way.
