Howdy guys! Right now I’m scheduling for my next semester in college as an undecided major. Previously I was looking at biology, but over break I experimented around with some linguistics and computer science stuff at home and I think I want to try out some classes to potentially major in that instead. The problem is, I’m not sure whether or not that’ll put me behind towards the completion of my degree, as I would be able to take fewer gen eds.
The Previous semester I took sixteen credit hours in Public Speaking (3), Calc. 1 (5), Shakespeare (3), Elementary French 2 (3), and Leadership (1). It wasn’t too bad, and I found them all to be pretty easy except for calculus.
Currently, I’m scheduled in Biology 2 with lab (4), Chem 2 with lab (4), Calc. 2 (5), and Intro. to Soccer (3)
I’m looking at changing my schedule to Biology 2 with lab (4), Intro to Ling. (3), Int. French 1 (3), and Calc. 2 (5).
However, if I decide to switch back to biology it would put me behind in the grand scheme of things by me not initially taking chemistry and one of my gen eds (the intro. to soccer course). If I decide that linguistics and comp sci. is the route I want to go, I’ll take introductory programming this fall. I’m not sure if it’s a good idea for me to experiment around, but potentially take some fairly difficult classes that wouldn’t apply to the other degree.
