so we are picking classes right now and i have the choice of taking ap lang, but if i do this then i will have to take ib english and ib history for junior and senior year. i mainly want to take ap classes so do college admission officers not like having a mix of ib and ap classes together? (also im taking two other ap classes so i dont want to be too busy)
thanks

No I’m gonna be a sophomore next year too and a mix is good! Fill in all your non-ib spots with AP in 11th and 12th! I think colleges wanna see that!

No, that is actually prestigious, some people would arguably kill to have access to both AP and IB, you honestly should be involved with both programs. Just make sure to put the time into it and get C’s, at the very minimum!

I think its just the opposite. If colleges knew that both AP and IB classes were available to you they would want you to take them.

thanks! i want to but arent the ib classes useless unless you get the full ib diploma

English HL is seen by colleges as better than AP Lang, as so I’ve heard from a few of the recruiters that have come to my school. I would take that if possible.

IB classes are never useless if you take the exam and score well.

Yeah I’ve also heard that before. The thing is though, isn’t 4 AP classes during sophomore year kinda pushing the limit and then taking two IB classes and 3 or 2 AP the year after that?

Am I on a good track for IVY League?
My course load for sophomore year will be
AICE General paper,
Pre-AICE Chemistry,
AICE Math,
AICE European History,
Pre-AICE Chinese 2,
AICE Global Perspectives,
and AP Psychology
