Course Selections for Junior Year

Hey, course selections are in a week; and I wanted to know if this would be a manageable schedule;
BTW- I do a sport during the winter and 4 clubs (they aren’t too time-consuming).
AP Language and Composition
AP Biology
AP Chemistry
Pre Calc Honors
US History (not AP)
(maybe AP stats)
Spanish 4

Please add any suggestions

I would choose either AP Bio or AP Chem- not both. Both of them are lab science classes and will take up a good amount of time.

Agreed; I would not recommend taking both AP Bio and AP Chem concurrently. In addition to the time commitment required by virtue of being AP’s, each requires a lot of time for labs and lab reports. For many schools, these classes are either double-periods, or require additional time before/after school.

Save one for senior year.

Like others said, it’s not in your best interest to do both AP Bio and Chem. I would like to add that if you have not taken physics yet, I highly recommend you do either this year or senior year. Besides that, it looks great as a whole! Good luck junior year!

Have a good day!

I’m currently in Honors Chem and AP Bio as a Sophomore and I can already tell you AP Bio isn’t easy, but at my school it isn’t the hardest thing either. If you consider yourself a well-rounded student who will stay on top of their work then go ahead and take AP Bio and chem, I’ll be taking AP Chem and honors physics next year but from watching my peers I can tell you it goes way beyond normal or honors chem as well as AP Bio, but if you think you can handle it then go ahead. Just remember that yes, they are both lab classes so you will have a lot of work cut out for you, but if you minimize work from other classes (ex.: not taking extra honor/ AP classes in which you don’t want to apply the extra effort) and stay on top of your course work (there will be A LOT!) you should be fine. Be prepared to receive a B or possibly a C though, for they go WAY beyond what is covered in college prep and honor level classes as I said before. Good luck, and let me know if you have questions about AP Bio :3!

Also only do this if you’re like me and wanting a degree in science, there’s no need to overload yourself with pointless AP’s as I have been told by countless college students and teachers at my school.
