Coursera Signature Track

Hi everyone,

I'm taking a course or two this summer on Coursera, but I was wondering if it is worth it to sign up for the signature track (around $40). It basically just verifies my identity, and provides a link that could be sent to colleges so they could see my grades in the courses. I'm hoping to list a few of my MOOCs on the common app, but do you think it matters to universities whether or not you buy the signature track? Thanks

I should think not. I think taking courses on Coursera or other MOOCs show an attempt at personal enrichment with available resources. I think paying the extra money only for recognition would not seem necessary but I hope you’d still be able to mention it somewhere to them.

I have the same question.
