What courses do you usually take during the first and second years of college to prepare? If I double up, do I take Bio and Chem the first year, then organic chem and physics the second year?

After those 4 courses, am I set to take the MCAT? Is that all I really need to take in order to do well on the MCAT... or is it advisiable to also take biochem and other classes before taking the MCAT?

one more question though -
what classes did you take what years?
Can you specifically tell me what classes you took what years before the MCAT?
I mean, I took AP Physics in 11th grade, and do no ever want to suffer through that again, although I feel pretty educated in that area... do I need to take it again before the MCAT? If I don't take it before the MCAT, should I still take it at all?

You should take it because a lot of (all? Certainly all that I applied to) medical schools require a year (two semesters) of physics courses with a lab.

As to whether or not you take it before MCAT, it's really up to you I suppose. It depends on what AP Physics you took and how confident you feel about it. There isn't much physics on the MCAT. It tends to be some basic mechanics, some lenses or mirrors, and then probably one esoteric question from all of the rest of physics (that wont require any calculus stuff). Since you'll have to take it anyway, I'd go ahead and take it before the MCAT just to be safe, but there are certainly people who have taken the MCAT before they finished their last physics course or something like that. Especially back when the MCAT was only offered twice a year, there were plenty of people who took it in April even though they weren't finishing their final physics course until May.
