Courses HELP

I am a sophomore in high school right now. I plan on becoming a dentist in the future and I want to apply to the 7 year bio-dental program. I know it's kind of early to think about this and kind of the right time as well, but I need help on deciding what courses to take in the next 2 years.

This is my Freshman year schedule:
-AP World History (got a 4 on the exam)
-Computer Science (QBASIC and VisualBASIC)
-Honors German III
-Honors Algebra II
-Honors Biology
-Honors English

I am part of the school's Gifted Education program.

This is what I am currently taking:
-AP German IV
-Honors Pre-Calc
-AP Government/AP Economics
-AP Physics B
-Honors Chemistry
-Computer Science (C++)
-Honors English
-Gifted Education

So for the bio-dental program..what courses should I take in the future?

Take courses that are the most rigorous your school offers in subjects that interest you. Excel in them. Take the AP tests where relevant and score “5s”. Keep on your track of 1 science course per semester, 1 math course per semester, 1 English course per semester, 1 social science/history course per semester, and (if you can) continue your foreign language study.

Are you really taking 7 academic courses this semester?

well this is for the entire school year…and next year (junior year) im planning on taking ap biology, ap physics c, ap calculus ab, ap english, ap computer science, ib german, and ap us history…then in my senior year i will take ap chemistry, ap calculus bc, ap statistics, college prep english(i dont like reading very much), independent study computer science, ap human geography, and maybe i will take early release so i can do some job shadowing at my dentist

thnx for all the tips fogcity :)

someone please give me guidance!

I second fogcitys recommendations. While as am not a dentist, I am a physician and would expect that combined programs like the one you are interested in are going to put the most emphasis on your transcript, then test scores, shadowing or dental experiences, LOR, and essays.

Focus on your shadowing/research in the dental field if you can, and possible even work towards molding your rec and ECs into what you are aiming to do.

thank u :)
