cpa but no big 4

I'm carious what the job prospects are for those who receive a cpa but are unable to get into a big 4 firm, for whatever reason.

are those people doomed to a 40-50 thousand dollar salary for the rest of their life?

Nice joke... CPA making 40-50k

i honestly have no idea.

i noticed that the average salary for a cpa is 65-70 thousand a year (is that right?). assuming that best paid cpa's end up in the big 4, that seems to suggest that non big 4 cpa's earn in the 50 thousand range.

is something wrong here in my reasoning?

Regional firms pay almost the same as Big Four, you don't have to goto Big Four to make loads u can be a corporate accountant and still make 50k starting a year. You have your figures all wrong buddy. Research more.
