I just logged into MyMIT and saw CPW info (Registration, Schedule etc) - WHAT?!
Isn't it just for admitted students?

Anyone else (rejected) experiencing the same thing?

Presumably just an error. I’d let Admissions know.

Making such an error on April 1st is cruel and very confusing.
This is what it says when I try to register:

^ This is not an April Fool’s joke from the Admissions Office. Contact them and ask what’s going on.

Even I got it !! I think its common for everyone:)

Yeah, I just don’t think this is a joke sponsored by admissions, if you know what I mean. I’m sorry for students who will find this somewhat painful.

wHY DID YOU EVEN LOG IN ?? just curious…

To see if there was anything about re-applying

MIT only released the CPW official site/schedule to admitted students today, so they must have mistakenly posted it to all MyMIT accounts. Don’t take it personally, it was a matter of simply pressing the wrong button somewhere.

but CPW registration was due by 28th of march…right?? It says so in my CPW account…and I got rejected…lol

and you dont press the wrong button POTENTIALLY depressing rejected dejected students…SOO NOT COOL :(

I stopped by Admissions today, and it was definitely an error. They’re aware of the issue and are correcting it.

I don’t mean to be cruel, but I don’t understand how this could depress anyone. I see how it could be kind of a bummer to be reminded of not being admitted, but it was clearly an accident, not an insult. To take it personally when they didn’t do it on purpose seems misguided to me.

Also, if you are still signing into your MyMIT account after not being admitted 2 weeks ago, you are probably hurting yourself unnecessarily anyway.

Edit: I think that sounded cold. My condolences really do go out to you not-admitted; I got rejected and waitlisted at my other 2 top choices, and it SUCKED. But since then, I haven’t logged into my application tracker, nor have I frequented their CC boards. I don’t mean to be rude, I just hope that you are not rubbing salt in your wound by being so stuck on MIT…it is a HARD school, by no means a paradise, and not being admitted there is only a very, very small part of your life.

Why don’t you try sending in your enrollment deposit and see just how far the error goes :-)

I still have no idea why he visited the boards or the account…I visited cause he asked me if It were the same for me…Yeah and No I am happy enough were I got into and wouldn’t mind transferring back in any case…:)

Oh and realising this on April fools was the bummer :)…a cold insult …lol:D

@ClassicRockerDad - In my Caltech circles there’s a guy who never went to Caltech but accidentally got an account. So who knows :P
