CR and writing getting a 700

Okay all you 800 people out there on cr or writing plz help me, i'm desperate

Critical Reading- i'm getting 500's with no prep but i don't kno how to prep for it, what books did u buy, wat vocabulary list did u memorize and what is fastest wat to do it, how many per night if i have 4 months till real SAT, and MOST IMPORTANTLY WHAT BOOK DID U USE

WRITING- what book did u use, or magazine u read or news whatever

I HAVE 4 MONTHS PLZ I NEED UR HELP, and also how long did u study every day, for how many months

CR: No need to study. Memorizing vocab is not efficient (not a big part of the test and time consuming). For reading passages, just annotate the important information and use it to answer the questions. Do not over-analyze the questions.

Writing: Memorize the ten-or-so rules that they test over and over again. Practice so you can recognize them all.

try the underground guide to the sat (or something like that). i took the sat twice, and it was the only prep i did for the second time. my writing jumped from 660 to an 800 b/c of this book alone.

CarnivalOfVenice ---r u talking of the Underround guide to the SAT? (the red and black book?) if that's so, I wouldn't suggest anyone for that at all. However, if someone has got five or six months, they might wanna read that for some recreational reading. that's all I would say.

okay, asifkhan, but it worked for me--my score jumped from 2090 (totally unprepared; took the psat twice, tho) to 2280 with just that book. it is different from the usual stuff, tho--it's good for once you've gotten to a certain point and can't figure out what else to do to prepare. what do you suggest, asifkhan?

I think Up Your Score: Underground Guide is a great choice in this situation. It would work well for getting your scores above 600 to near 700. But, if you start looking for a higher score, you'll need a much better guide (McGraw-Hills, Barrons, etc...)

For writing... just grab a grammar book
but.... CR is kinda hard to prep for

ilovebusiness make 500s in CR and I supppose s/he doesn't make 650s (do u?) If u do, then it's alrite to spend sometime and just glance over the Underground Guide. But if it's the case like u make 500s in W too then I would suggest u to put more emphasis on BB or PR and PRACTICE the real tests. Now, if u do have ample time, then just glance over that.
