Crap, I'm caucasian! Chances at: Upenn/Carnegie Mellon/Princeton/TCNJ/American/UDel?

Everyone else who is applying to ivies seems to have really really incredibly awesome statistics. I am comparably normal. Am I wasting my money in applying? Penn, sadly, is my number one choice.

I am a middle class girl, I live on a [produce] farm, I go to a public school in western south jersey (near philly). My school only offers about 8 AP classes, most of which are only available in one's senior year. Up until senior year I took the most rigorous classes available, but opted out of AP History this year in favor of Honors physics (which is still kicking my ass).

9th
Honors Physical Science
Honors English
Freshman Band
Spanish II
Computer Applications
Honors World History
Honors Algebra II

(straight A's [93 and above])

10th
Honors Geometry
Honors English
Wind Ensemble
Spanish III
Study Hall (NOTHING fit into my schedule)
Honors US History I
Honors Biology

(straight A's again)

11th
Honors Precalculus
Honors English
Honors Spanish IV
Honors US History II
Wind Ensemble
Honors Chemistry
Web Development

(more straight A's)

12th
AP Chemistry
AP English
AP Calculus AB (BC not offered)
Honors Physics
Advanced Web Development
Wind Ensemble - now considered an honors class...
Honors Spanish V

More info:
GPA: 101.14 weighted. It's still a 4.0 unweighted.
Rank: 1/360
SAT I: 2240 (760 W, 750 V, 730 M) my original sat score was a 1230 (570 M 660 V.) Does this look good or bad?
SAT II: Chem 620 (I was sick that day, I'm retaking it along with Math IIC and Spanish)

Extra Curriculars:
-Student council
-Prez of spanish club
-webmaster/historian of NHS (also a member!)
-Computer club
-Key club
-Soccer (takes up the majority of my time)
-Random other orchestras/bands during certain times (also takes up a lot of time)
-Clarinet lessons 4 years
-Piano 6 years + recitals annually
-Science League, scored above avg in state each time but nothing special
-AMC 10 + 12 (10th and 11th grade), scored above avg but nothing special
-Soccer camps/soccer leagues during summers
-work at farm market during summers/also work on family farm
-church liturgy band
-volunteer with random things, mostly music-wise, don't feel like listing.

Awards and All That Jazz:
This category is severely lacking, mostly because our school never gives out awards for anything and I am kinda spread too thin.
-Superintendent's list (all grades 93 and above)...all marking periods so far.
-1st place in school for nat'l sci league bio
-1st chair in school's wind ensemble (the band is best in south jersey, one of the best in jersey)
-elected to be in Rowan University high school honor band
-All South Jersey Symph. band 3rd chair clarinet (it was the first time I ever tried out. I was so nervous and shaky but still managed to get 12th out of like 100. Why am I telling you my life story?).

My recomms should be good. I've got my band director/english/math teacher, all of whom I love.
I plan to major in COMPUTER SCIENCE w/ minor in MUSIC.

Your chances are pretty damn good at UPenn. You're a virtual lock for the other schools.

You'd have a pretty good shot at Brown or Dartmouth or Duke etc... if you wanted to apply there...

haha, thank you, I figured I'd be ripped apart.

I was looking at those schools, but my mother is paranoid and doesn't even consider Seton Hall or Rutgers a safety school for me. And my dad wants me super close (another reason why penn is my numero uno).

bumpity bump?

You arent a lock for CMU, especially for compsci... you show absolutely no interest in cs except for "webmaster" which doesnt count for much. Your schedule is also very weak considering you are only taking 3 of 8 APs available; no wonder you have a 4.0 GPA.

Penn and Princeton are reaches, but I don't know how you'd fare with CMU. It could go either way.

yes, I know I don't apparently show any interest for CS. But I've tried! I only became interested in it as of last year. I'm a very vacillating person.
I attempted to take CS this year but my school cancelled the course
calculus is the closest thing I have to CS.
many of the APs available just became available as of this year.
like ap music theory, gov, stat.
I loathe gov and history, I'm not going to waste my time hating classes.
I couldn't fit ap bio into my schedule
The other ap english is only for 11th grade, I wasn't recommended for it(that's a complicated story in itself)

unfortunately, colleges only seem to look at rigor of courses, not whether or not I love/hate whatever I'm taking.

I'd try harder, but everyone I know who is taking at least 3 ap classes in my school concurrently wants to kill themselves. Wimpy? Perhaps. I have no standard of comparison. But that's good old clearview high school.

Actually, all the schools you mentioned have caucasian students....

You certainly have a chance at all the schools mentioned, and if your love for Penn comes across through visits, great essays, and such, that will help. The disadvantage is that many south Jerseyan's apply there.

Best advice is to find a good safety you can accept, then go for gold, and see what happens.
