Craziest and Unexpected Stories about people after graduating high school!!

Lately, I've been hearing some crazy stories about people after they've graduated from my high school. A lot of the stories aren't very good either. I've heard 5 people get pregnant, marriage, scholarship loss, and dropping out of school! This is after they've graduated from high school, and I know alot of people that gained weight too. Then again I know others that's changed for the worse physically. What are the stories you've heard?!

Our valedictorian dropped out of her ivy after only being there for a week. That's about the craziest thing I've heard.

A typical gothy-like girl just dropped out of UHartford for cocaine addiction.

My friend at an Ivy got married on Thanksgiving?! My other friend who was super conservative lost it or something and is this crazy party girl....other friend gained 20 lbs already?!!

Oh mah gosh ...I dont want to change for the worse.

wow pretty crazy...I haven't spent that much time with the people from my hs, but I haven't heard anything to these extremes.

I know people from my high school who went to college and then made over 1,000 posts on CollegeConfidential. True story. I swear I'm being honest.

**** happens. Yes, even to the elite.

This girl in my class got married her freshman year, my best friend from middle school came out of the closet.

maybe it is true that nerds do succeed in the end

My S who missed more days of school in one year of HS than most kids have missed their entire school careers has not missed a single day of college & has never been happier or healthier. Folks around him (including room mate) are sick & some are even homesick. He's thriving.

His cousin is at an exclusive private. Her room mate was always crying. In the 1st week of school, roomie's folks overnighted her some of her favorite ice cream with dry ice. They store it in their room fridge & everyone in the dorm comes over with their spoons & just digs in! She's already been ill twice, wonder why?

A friend's S got into nearly every school he applied to, chose UCLA & transferred back home to flagship U after fall semester. He will be graduating from college a year early because of all his AP credits & then try again for a better fit for grad school.

One kid I knew died in a motorcycle accident.

Typical stuff... the people that stayed at home to go to the community college have either dropped out altogether, are "taking a semester off", etc. They're also one or more of the following: pregnant, married, engaged, living together.

It's just like, "you're nineteen years old... do you REALLY need a baby right now? Really? Do you really plan on living in our craphole of a town for the rest of the your life?"

You're shocked that someone who belonged to a subset of kids known for heavy drug use had to go to rehab for coke? Really? Doesn't seem that suprising.

To address the subject of the thread; when I was hammered at a bar the other weekend I found out my ex-gf also has a ex-gf (I'm a guy). Interesting revelation, absolutely freakin hilarious when you're drunk in a bar.

"My ex-gf eats box! HAHahahHAHAH"

A few girls from my graduating class died in a car accident. They were hit by a drunk driver :(

A lot of people who went to CC have already dropped out.

The funny thing is, most of the kids who decided to stay at a CC are now full of money (Bright Futures goes straight into their accounts, since the Honors College there is free), are doing spectacularly well, & will probably transfer to top-of-the-line places.

On the other hand, the ones that decided to blow the ol' Popsicle stand & find 'cleaner waters' are the ones losing scholarships & dropping out (myself included).

It's been my experience that people don't change THAT much during the time they go to college. College is made up to be this life-changing, opinion-altering, horizon-expanding sort of time in your life, and to an extent its true, but it's not always so radical.

The potheads I knew in high school are still potheads, the beer-loving partiers I knew in high school are still partiers, the nerds are still nerds, the goths are still goths etc. I think the biggest difference I've seen is changes in professed sexual orientation-- people coming out, people saying they're actually bisexual etc (or LUGS-- Lesbian Until Graduation, hahah).

Other than that, most people don't change personalities or do really outrageous stuff in college that they haven't already done in high school, in my personal experience.

i havent changed one bit but its only been 3 months
nothing that big with anyone else i know (of) either

I think one girl from my high school got engaged.

I knew this gay midget, he came out of the cupboard.

I graduated in 2003 (omg, i'm like...old...around here) and i know toooooo many girls with MULTIPLE children. However none of them are really surprising cases.

And yeah. I went to a CC and transferred. Not surprisingly, a ton of kids I know who thought they were so much smarter than CC kids bc they decided to go to CSU Long Beach or Fullerton (which our high school fed to) have now dropped out or delayed graduation significantly. In fact, as far as I can tell, more people from my high school will NOT be graduating from college this year than who will. So, I guess my going to CC wasn't such a bad idea. I'm actually ahead of most of the people from my high school class as far as education, professional experience, not being a loser, etc.

In fact, I LOVE running into the "mean" girls from high school now. It's fun because I am a horrible person and I enjoy karmic retribution.
