Creating Second Version of CommonApp

I want to make a second version of my application to make a few changes. In the first version, all of my school forms have already been completed by my counselor through Naviance.

If I make a new version and move the schools I haven't yet applied to over to this one, will the school forms be completed still? Or do I need to go through that process again?

Thanks!

Yes the forms will still be completed on the new version. :)

Awesome, thank you so much!

Just make sure to add those new schools on the Naviance site. (and not just on the Common Application)

Do you use a new name? Or is there a way to revise the first version? I can’t see a way to make changes once it has been submitted…

You need to submit at least one application via the Common App. first, before being able to create alternate versions:

On your Common Application, click on “Common Application” on the left side, which is fourth in line below “Instructions”, “My Colleges” and “Search for Colleges”. Then click on “Replicate” which makes a copy of your first submission, but allows you to discard essays, or upload new essays.

You can replicate multiple times, and will find all your versions in the drop down menu

will colleges see that you have made an alternate common app version?

Hm, I created a new version of the commonapp but my school forms haven’t transferred yet… it’s been a long time as well. Are they supposed to reappear right away, or do they only reappear after you upload everything?

Edit: Okay, I just realized that I haven’t told Naviance I’m applying through the commonapp. I just set that, so, should school forms be appearing soon?

This post helped a lot… Didn’t know that some of the info ( including essays) could be changed… Helps a lot!

thanks for this!
