Whoops, guess I posted on the wrong thread. I have an idea on the previous one, do you want me to post it here?
And seriously bzva92, lay off her. She can’t change her situation; it may bother you, but you’ve made your point. Just let it be.

Does Yale have any sort of ROTC scholarship from any branch of the military? You could apply for that if the deadline isn’t already passed. I know the Air Force ROTC deadline is passed, but I don’t think the others’ are.

You’d probably get it, considering you were capable of getting into Yale SCEA.

Actually, I guess not…but there is a service obligation…and I have a physical disability that might limit my ability to complete certain tasks in the military.

^They may have adjustments for those with disabilities. There are certainly ways to serve in the military without much physical exertion. Check it out, if you’re interested.

Gap year idea is good, though if you are taking it to save money it would be boring as hell. To maximise income you would have to: Live at home, not party, work really hard in a fairly boring job (don’t think you could get anything interesting and well paying just out of school). Computer freelance is a pretty good idea if you know where to look. I am pretty good with computers and have had employment with them but not sure where I could find freelance work? If you do know please tell me… Online poker can be beaten though unless you are a natural will take a while to make anything substantial…

Online poker lol that could be fun would have to be 18 though…
Some small computer repair shops hire comp. oriented people if you know the mechanics…I have a kindergartner’s knowledge of object pascal, so not so good for me. I have been exploring python, though
You also could set up your own business…some sort of tech hot line if you are more of a troubleshooting-type guy or work for a small company doing light programming (maybe more likely to hire someone young if they are just starting up) if that’s your interest
