Has anyone else heard from Sewanee or UVA? Should we assume that my D did not get in since some people have heard from them and we have not? Madagascar1, what is the “three week program” that you referenced at UVA?

I haven’t heard back from Sewanee yet. I’m wondering if it’s because I submitted my app. close to the deadline. Did those of you who have heard from Sewanee send your apps in early/earlier?

KellyLJ1: I’m pretty sure Sewanee wouldn’t leave us hanging. (At least I hope not ;P) I think it might have something to do with the number of apps and times they were sent out or something.

lovedjny, my D submitted all of her apps 2/28, so you are probably correct!

I thought UVA is sending out decisions on March 25? My application was completed on February 28, and I have not heard back from them yet.

No word back yet from anyone, as per expectations.

Got email that my daughter got accepted by Interlochen. Still waiting for IOWA & kenyon

Yasminwrites: How did you know that IOWA will notice on March 25th?

For those of you who have been accepted in previous Iowa sessions or have applied this year: What type of work did you submit? I submitted at 9 page short story, which was meant to be comical and funny. I also submitted a more serious contemporary poem.

I submit a five-page short story and seven poems (the poems fit into six pages). All were rather serious, but represented a variety of styles (all of the poems are very different in terms of tone and subject).

@FScott You are applying for the sessions this year correct?

I’ve applied this year, and for my writing sample I included a memoir piece, an essay, a journal entry/memoir piece that’s about two pages long, and an excerpt of a short story. (Which all miraculously ended up being 10 pages of material, yay!)

@Bird Yes, I applied to Iowa this year.

UVA decisions go out today–has anyone heard anything?

Kenyon and UVA both notify today. Kenyon sends out letter through the mail. UVA emails/calls. Haven’t heard anything yet from UVA.

My daughter has not heard anything from UVA, Kenyon or Sewanee yet. Hopefully, today is the day!

My daughter just received the email from UVA and she was accepted! Not much time before a deposit is due. Has anyone else heard?

Do you know when IOWA will notify? and IOWA will notify through mail or email?

Iowa notifies on April 1 through email. I was accepted to UVA as well. Is the acceptance rate high?

@Cherry: I can’t reply to private messages yet; I don’t have enough posts.

I’m sorry; I misremembered what Iowa’s website said. It seems as if their decisions will be sent through the mail, like the Kenyon decisions. In the past, I’ve heard that some people who need to make decisions about other programs call Iowa on April 1 to hear of their acceptance/rejection; I suggest calling then. That way, you can immediately reply to Interlochen based on that response.

@FScott: Thank you for your reply.
