<p>does anyone know if there is a creative writing major (or minor) at Cornell? If so, at what school? and how can I go about minoring/double majoring?</p>
<p>There are three directly relevant courses (creative writing, narrative writing, and verse writing) in the English department which is, of course, in the Arts school. You can attend those even as a Hotelie. You can also take other English courses that will help you as a writer--Shakespeare, 19th Century English Lit, 20th Century American Lit, etc. The best way to write is to do it. The second best thing is to read, and read well and widely. Read Dostoevsky and Dickens, Byron and Balzac, Faulkner and Flaubert, Stendahl and Steinbeck. No school in Cornell's stratum would offer a major in "creative writing;" Cornell does not offer "minors."</p>
