"Credit does not transfer for General Ed"...whaa??!!

It was really depressing. I came across this page on U of C website

<a href="http://collegecatalog.uchicago.edu/pdf_07/exam-credit.pdf%5B/url%5D">http://collegecatalog.uchicago.edu/pdf_07/exam-credit.pdf</a></p>

and (at the very last page) it says that since I took college courses while still in High School ...

"transfer credit may not be used to meet general education requirements...unless a student formally enters the College as a 'transfer student'"

....(sigh) Is there any way to petition/challenge this?....because I didn't work my butt off and go to community college for nothing. I've taken almost 60-units worth of semester classes btw...and I do not want to start over again. Any oppinion or suggestion?

I don't think Chicago will accept them for two reasons:

They appear on your High School transcript.

Community colleges are not accredited four-year institutions.

Chicago does not accept any substitutes for Humanities and Social Science (all non-science AP tests only give elective credit). Chicago does give placement credit if you pass the test. So if you learned your material well in community college, you won't be wasting your time since you could test out of general education in the sciences.

Well...actually...

Those courses I took does not appear in my high school transcript (I didn't take them to fulfill my HS graduation requirement); I have separate transcripts for each school. As a matter of fact, I actually have 4 different transcripts (b/c I took courses at different colleges and universities)

I don't think this is fair, considering that I should be considered transfer student anyways (I have 60 units and I will be having my associates' degree in math)

I've contact U of C already...btw
I'm just trying to get some suggestion.

none, i hope you are wrong on that second point, because i am applying as a transfer from a community college!

It will accept some credit used for electives as long as it is not used for HS credit.

those college credits are probably a big reason why you got in, so it was good to take them
