So I looked at my prospective university's ap policy (University of Utah) and, with my tests next year that I am taking, I should have 57 credit hours. Is there a general amount of credits that all universities use to determine grade level? Would I enter university as a sophomore or a junior?

You need 120 to graduate, so 60 is considered a junior (and 57 is second-semester sophomore). However, many schools don’t like to give incoming students higher standing, so you’ll still be treated like a freshman at the start of college like everyone else.

The upside is often you get to sign up for classes based on how many credits you already have. You will almost certainly enter as a freshmen (doing orientation, living in dorms, etc). That isn’t to say you have 4 years until graduation or even, depending on your school/major, have to take any freshmen classes.
