Hey!

I really want to finish my degree fast (in like 3 years) due to financial and time reasons, and I plan in majoring Political Science. How do you suggest my freshman schedule should look like, and should how many classes should I take per semester? Also, if I'm going to get credit from IB subjects, is it going to be useful only in the area I'm going to major in, or can you just take these credits and count toward your overall degree requirement? Say I take 6 classes.

Congratulations on your acceptance.

You’ll get IB credit if you score at least a 6 on the HL exam. Your total credit given will not exceed 16 points and will count toward the 124 points you need to graduate. Whether or not it gets you any exemptions depends on the course.

Your freshman schedule will automatically include lit hum, univ writing, and frontiers of science. How you want to balance the rest of your schedule between poli sci and other core classes is up to you. During New Student Orientation you’ll meet with an advising dean to review your Fall schedule. Personally, I’d wait until you are actually on campus before thinking about overloading your schedule.
