Credit Transfer at MIT

It says if you are from a foreign University, chances of getting the credits transferred are low.
What about institutions like IIT(Indian Institute of Technology)?
Is it probable to transfer most of the IIT credits(mostly 'A's) to MIT?
Is anyone there who has done so? Any specific criteria apart from what is mentioned on the site?

The chances are always low of getting credits transferred.

You can apply for Advanced Standing Credit for some classes.

This requires you to take an exam, in order to validate the credit you are wanting to transfer in from another school.

Be warned… whatever grade you get on the exam becomes the grade you get for the awarded transfer credit.

More information about Advanced Standing Exams can be found here…

I might be wrong, but I do believe that while that grade appears on your transcript, it does not get factored into your GPA.
