I am looking to lighten my freshman year courseload by taking an english class at my community college this spring (I am a senior in high school.) Where would I look to see what class I should sign up for/if it will transfer? I am an engineering major if that matters.

This will get you what you need:

www.transfer.org;

thanks, i’m having trouble navigating that site though, can someone show me how exactly that website works?

First, click on the Courses tab. Then, on the left-hand side, there is a column of options. Choose the Equivalencies by School option and then go through the inputs!

ah thanks! i’m oos and apparently as far as community colleges go they only want ones in illinois i’ll call them tomorrow and see if thats really the case

Yeah, definitely try to call them and see what’s up. I believe a lot of what you did will count though, given there are courses like the ones you took at available at UIUC, so don’t worry too much.

If you do well on standardized tests, just take the ACT and get a 32 on the English section. It could save you a lot of time.
