Transfer Suggestions for IL

I've been taking advice from this site for a while, but in this situation, I still need help.

I'm a transfer student who is applying to schools for this spring semester (Sophomore).

Here are my stats:

CC gpa: 3.9 (maybe 3.8 for tranfer-able classes because I got one B+ in a class)
Credits: 46 (but not all will transfer, since I took a few art courses)
EC: mainly my job at a coffee shop during college for a year, also I paint, draw and have received a couple of art awards
Intended major: Anthropology

Since I have over 20 credits, I probably won't even submit my hs grades, etc. but my hs gpa was ~3.6 and my act was 29.

Schools I'm applying to:
UIC
NIU
Loyola University
SIUC

My situation is that I will not get any aid from FAFSA, but also have very limited funds for college. I know that scholarships are scarce for transfer students... does anyone have suggestions on either schools in Illinois I could apply to or tips on getting merit aid ? I'm not overly picky on the quality of programs since I intend to go to graduate school – I just want to avoid too much debt.

Thank you in advance!

Is your legal state of residence Illinois? if so your lists look good. I would add urbana champaign to the list also.

Yes, I’m a resident of Illinois and going to a local CC in Illinois. I didn’t include Urbana because they’re notorious for not giving aid. Is it worth applying to? Thank you for the suggestion!

Any chance that I could apply to a private school and they would give me merit aid?

*bump. Anyone else?

Each school is different. Look up transfer scholarships for the schools you are interested in applying to.

Does your CC have a PTK chapter? There are a very few scholarship opportunities offered to members.

I was considering PTK, but they never sent me a membership application (they usually do after the first sem), and when I emailed them, they didn’t even respond, so I gave up.

I guess my real question is, would any of these schools possibly give me a near-full or a full tuition scholarship as a transfer? Or should I look elsewhere?

Oh and thank you for the replies so far.
