I am an international student, so please excuse me if I make errors.

I know that to calculate GPA you need the credit hours, in the USA.
Plus, in the common app, they ask you for the credit of the classes you are taking.

Now, in my state, credits don't exist. There are lessons that have more hours than others (e.g. Science here is 5 hours per week), but that's it.

Plus, I also read somewhere that the GPA is calculated using credits from 9-12 years. Is that true? How does that work?
How are calculated credits? Are there the number of years you take that class or the number of hours per class?

Thanks
