Creighton 2024 Admission Decisions

@Colorado14 I am guessing we live in the same state  so maybe they will send letters out in waves based on location, and our daughters will hear back on the same day? I donā€™t remember the date the portal showed changes, but an admission officer called my daughter on Nov 7 to see if she had questions and say that she would receive an admissions decision by 12/15.

My daughter was accepted into the business school, and she applied in early October, so not super early.

My daughter was accepted 11.13.19 to business school. Applied 10.27.19. Founder scholarship.

My daughterā€™s portal just updated today that she was accepted into College of Arts and Sciences/Pre-Dental with Founders Scholarship 20K per year.

My son was accepted this week and was awarded a Magis Scholarship as well. At a minimum, we now know that heā€™s going to college. Best of luck to other applicants!

Congrats to you all on the acceptances! How exciting. Still waiting to hear something here.

I donā€™t think all of the Colorado decisions are being released at the same time. Iā€™m sure you will hear back very soon!

Hi. Is anyone planning on going to Special Programs Day in January? Iā€™m eligible for some scholarships, and I want to apply to the Deanā€™s Fellows program as well, so Iā€™m going to attend. Anyone else?

@Indygirl1 my daughterā€™s acceptance did not list that as an option unless we are missing it. She is nursing so I wonder if that is just for certain students in specific colleges?

Have fun when you go!

@phxcactus Congrats!! my D applied nursing as well. Would you mind sharing when your D submitted her application and what her scores, grades, ect were? Did she connect with an admissions rep as well?

@LGmomof2 , sure! She submitted via the Select Student Application option back in August. I think she had it completed it within 2 weeks of that window opening.

GPA 3.96 UW/4.8 W
Class rank 10/562 at a large public high school
Took a lot of honors and AP classes
ACT 30 super scored

She is very active in volunteering, clubs, and was in a sport all 4 years. She has taken a few specialty medical focused classes like Medical Science, Allied Heath (she can test to become a Medical Assistant) and will be taking the Certified Nurse Assisting Class next semester.

She did connect with her admissions rep. We met 1:1 with her I think back in May.

Hope that helps some. Good luck to your daughter! Creighton is such a great school.

@phxcactus, thanks! My D submitted just before the Nov.1 deadline, but did mot connect with rep, which i think may be important. She should be a solid candidate, but you never know!

To those of you who have received decisions ā€“ if you donā€™t mind answering, did you apply for financial aid? Still havenā€™t heard anything and wondering if weā€™re delayed due to financial aid review.

We have one in college already so I would have bet she checked the box saying we would like to apply for financial aid consideration. I think if you have not touched based with your studentā€™s admissions rep, that might help get some answers as far as a timeline goes.

@momof3co , did your kiddo receive an email stating the application was received and was complete? Wondering if they are waiting on something like a transcript or teacher recommendation?

Sorry, I know the wait is a killer. DD is waiting for one more decision herself but she does not expect to hear on that one until next month.

@momof3co, we did apply for financial aid mostly in hopes of qualifying for an institutional grant. A friend of my daughter, who attends the same school in Colorado, has not received her decision as of yet so hang in there, Iā€™m sure it will be coming soon!

@phxcactus Thanks so much for your response!

I actually spoke to the Admissions rep on 11/1 because the portal showed the transcripts had not been received, but that the counselor recommendation HAD been received, and they were submitted at the same time. I wanted to make sure all was showing received by the deadline, and she assured me the system just hadnā€™t been updated.

Then she called my D on 11/7 and said they had all they needed and asked if she had any questions. We got an ā€œapplication completeā€ email the same day. The portal shows complete. I guess just unsettling that she hasnā€™t received an update and it seems most others have! So I thought maybe it was the FAFSA review taking time?

Has your D decided where she will go? Is Creighton high on her list?

@Colorado14 Thank you for the encouragement! Itā€™s still so early that I feel silly for worrying about it but I am! Good to know she isnā€™t the only one so itā€™s just the process and not a certain rejection. Is your D still waiting on others?

@momof3co, she has heard back from seven, including Creighton, and is waiting on the last one, although that decision will not come out until mid-late December. I donā€™t know when your daughter applied to Creighton but we didnā€™t hear back until about 5 1/2 weeks after she submitted it.

We did submit our FAFSA, and my daughter received her admission decision in the mail on November 9th. She applied to the business school, and all of her materials were in by early October. I think you said that your daughterā€™s portal changed to show additional scholarships? Did she also get assigned a ā€œNet I.D.ā€? Check her portal for that. Assignment of the Net I.D. was the very first change that my daughter noticed in her portal. The notification of additional scholarships came a few days after the Net I.D. appeared, and then the physical acceptance package came in the mail about a week later. I bet that they are sending out acceptances in waves, and the order in which the are sent may simply be dependent upon how fast the individual admissions counselor reviewed the application and sent it to the Director of Admissions for final sign off. This wait is so hard! Hang in there, and please keep us updated.

This is the same thing that happened to my portal. I noticed the Net ID first and then looked up what that was. The website said that it was assigned during the admissions process, so I think that is the first sign that youā€™ve been accepted.
