Alright, I live in the South, where crew is unheard of. But let's say you have very good qualities like strength (probably the strongest male applicant in Harvard this year that is not playing football) and team-work. I am asking if I could possibly talk to the coach at Harvard and try to get recruited. Is that even possible? Unlikely? Ignorant of me to ask? :o

You can send in your statistics, but I'm sure you're unlikely to be recruited unless you're very good at crew. Harvard lands many of the country's top recruits, especially in heavy weight.

I would say that it's highly unlikely at Harvard. However, if you are athletic, it's possible that you would be able to walk onto the team once you are accepted on a regular basis.

It is quite common for experienced athletes who have never rowed to join the freshman crew, and sometimes they work their way up to varsity.

If you think this is something you'll enjoy, there's also IM crew. But I can't see you being recruited unless you can give the coach an erg score, etc.

ah ok, thanks guys. Thats what I was thinking; but it was worth a try.
