crime statistics for LU?

anyone know where to find crime stats for LU / that part of Appleton where LU lies? Got an email to admissions and am waiting.

I can't give you statistics, but I can give you my general impressions. The campus and the neighborhood around Lawrence are very safe and relatively crime free. The campus is at one end—the more "upscale" end--of the main part of downtown, and the town itself is one of the safest places in America. The area around the campus is one of the more desirable neighborhoods in Appleton. Many faculty members live very close to campus and almost all walk to and from the place a various times of day and night. The campus very lively late into the evening and seems like one of the safest places on earth. (I know such impressions can be misleading, but that is how it “seems.”) Violent crime is virtually unheard of. There are crimes on campus: occasionally a laptop is stolen, or audio visual equipment is missing from a classroom, but these things are so rare that it is almost a scandal when they are reported. There has been some vandalism recently, but the vast majority of the people on campus find it appalling. Students often leave bikes unlocked in racks—probably not a good idea, but they do it anyway. I hope that helps.

I went to a parent orientation when my daughter moved in this year; the students are issued whistles. If they are in danger they blow the whistle and the campus responds. I can't remember how many years had passed since the last whistle was blown; it was many...

There is a site for crime statistics on all the campuses. I just can't remember how to locate it.....

College Navigator - National Center for Education Statistics

Search for LU or any school. You can find stats on crime and other stuff.

that is one great website, cally. One question: on the liquor busts, can we also say that it might show how much , or little , a college reports the transgression, correct?

so the logical question now is : how much does LU admin / secuirity monitor / enforce the liquor laws, especially in the res halls (which seems to be where all this stuff goes on according to the website)?

I misspelled 'security' in the last question. Sorry about the confusion.

something on safety...good that they are operating 24-7. I wonder how many people or FTE's there are working in security?
