I am 17 and was just arrested for possesion of alcohol/intoxication (a violation) and two counts of resisting arrest/detention (a misdemeanor). Its a long story really... but I went to a party and didnt drink anything, the cops came, I ran, and a state police dog found me and took me down. I shouldn't have ran but I freaked out. The possession of alcohol/intoxication I am pretty sure will be dropped cause they just saw me running and they have no proof i was even there, plus I blew a .000 after taking a breathalyzer. I am hoping the resisting arrest will get dropped too, but that charge could go either way as of now. Even if everything gets dropped and does not go on my record, is there anyway when I apply for colleges soon that they will be able to look up and see that I was arrested and whatnot even though the charges did not stick? I am talking about extremely selective colleges too....

id get a lawyer, a decent one could get you off the that easily.

nothing will show up until you've actually been convicted of something

And then the likelihood the school would even care....

If you get hit with probation you can request a DEJ program to clear it up (provided you're eligible which is not hard to do). Colleges will not see it if you're on this program.

You can't even outsmart a dog and you're trying to get into selective schools?

I dont think any Human could get away from a trained dog, even if they tried, without taking flight.

Can a dog climb a tree?

Dr. Horse, a22flo is talking about going to college, not escaping anyone/anything that has dogs.

A dog may not be able to climb a tree, but it will just wait until you have to come down. Dogs can last quite a bit longer then humans without food and water,.

Toplover, I was responding to "a milli"

dogs have an iq of like 50-60 dude... surely anybody who deserves to go to college has a higher IQ and can thus outsmart the dog. Why not throw a piece of meat in the otehr direction? The dog will chase that instead.

Not a properly trained dog.

Why bother? Shoot the dog and keep the steak for yourself. Two birds, one stone.

Lol if he did have a gun on him to shoot this dog I think he would be facing a few more charges. But, my friend went through a similar situation while already on probation. We were at a party and he ran from the police and got away but they got his name somehow. Anyways, in court they "postponed" the charges, because they had no proof he had alcohol and that it was him who ran. I think you're good, anyways.

A-1 goes great on nearly any meat.

The dog took you down? hahahaha, I'm trying to picture this.

I don't think it should be a big deal for you. I got two drinking tickets in high school and still got into every school I applied to, even some selective ones. Most colleges don't care about that kind of thing.
