Crimson email

We have never checked the Crimson email. Another post mentioned that you can have it forwarded to another email. Can anybody tell us how to do this?

I would call the university, but I’m sure they’re closed now.

I hope we haven’t missed any deadlines because we haven’t checked it!

when you log into mybama… up at the top is a logo (i think it says crimson and an e), just click on that and the email will open.
dont think you will have missed any deadlines, son’s has his confirmations of honors and fellows submission, an email about vaccinations, a notice about an online chat ,
BUT i seem to remember my son saying notices about CBHP would only be sent to the crimson email?

To have Crimson email forwarded to another account…

Open Crimson email

Click on Settings (upper right corner)

Then click on Forwarding

Then put in the email address that you want mail forwarded to.

Periodically check the Pay Your Student Bill to make sure that nothing is owed.

Before I do that, if I want the email forwarded, will the email still go to the crimson email account? In other words, will it be sent to both accounts?

Don’t want to miss up the crimson mail, since I assume that’s the one son will have to use when he attends there.

But knowing his history of checking email, or lack thereof, want to make sure I stay on top of things like deadlines, especially with regard to finances

Thanks for your help

My daughter gets her email both at the Crimson email site as well as her MSN email. HTH.

Yes, the mail will still go to Crimson, too.

Test it… set up the forwarding system. Then send an email to Crimson. Check to see if the email ends up in both inboxes. If not, then go and undo.

Thanks for the tips, guys. Set it up successfully. Glad I checked. Did get some mail from our area rep about Capstone and advice on tours and such.

btw, it’s much easier to access Crimson mail with this URL:

http://mail.crimson.ua.edu/

It’s a Google application so it works a lot like GMail if you are familiar with that.

The shortcut to crimson helps a lot when one doesn’t need to check mybama. If desired, the student can set up a guest mybama account for the parent(s) in order to pay charges and such. When school starts in August, expect a lot more e-mails.
