CS 2022 grads gender ratio

I know that CS majors are among the most lopsided majors where men predominate. I also have heard about how it wasn’t so a long time ago.

I saw this blog post by Jon Boeckenstedt, where you can slice & dice data about Bachelor’s degrees awarded in 2022.

The College Finder

I looked at a few random colleges for CS and got the percentage of women as a proportion of all CS grads last year.

MIT 39%
Brown 38%
UC Berkeley 38%
Princeton 36%
Tufts 35%
Stanford 34%
Rice 31%
BU 31%

U of Washington 39%
UIUC 26%

Something to note is that, at UCB, “computer science” appears to be L&S CS only (848 graduates). EECS majors (528 graduates) would be under “electrical and electronics engineering” on that web page, even though it looks like most emphasize CS rather than EE (based on the 20-70 enrollment of most EE upper division courses).

Right. And a lot less women in EECS at Cal. 22%
