Can somebody from CS tell me what are the required courses for the first year per semester? Not just CS, but also humanities, science, etc. I looked into the CS site but it is not clear to me. Thanks.

Are you CC or SEAS? If you’re set on it, then -

CC Semester 1: Lit Hum, UW/FroSci, CS 1004, Calc 1 (if you need it; otherwise, Elective), Elective
CC Sem 2: Lit Hum, UW/FroSci, 1007, Elective, Elective

SEAS Sem 1: UW/Gateway, Calc, Physics, Gen Chem 1, CS 1004
SEAS Sem 2: UW/Gateway, Calc, Physics, CS 1007, Required Elective (Pre-professional, Principles of Econ, Humanities, Lab, etc.)

Thanks for the quick response.
I found this: “You are required to complete University Writing in your first year; most students complete the Core Humanities sequence in their second year.”
and this: “You must complete at least 27 points of nontechnical coursework”.
How many points is University Writing?

Forgot. This is for SEAS.

UW is 3. The full 27 points are

-UW (3)
-Art/Music Hum (3)
-Principles of Econ (4)
-Lit Hum/CC/Global Core (8)
-Electives (9)

Is W1007 in Java or Python? I’ve heard Python is introduced recently, but don’t really know to which course it is initially related. Thanks.

Are you supposed to take these all those non-technical requirements in sophomore year?

You can take them whenever as long as you graduate on time. That goes for the lab and most non-crucial classes other than major prereqs, Gateway, and UWriting.
