CS minor: What to do with it?

I'm a bio major but recently have become really interested in CS. I don't believe it's possible to double major for me at this point because of time/units but I can get a minor. My question is is it worth it if I want to pursue a job that requires a CS bachelors even though I'll only have a minor? I'm talking about a job that doesn't relate to bio at all either. In particular I really want to work for an animation company like pixar doing animation but their interships/jobs require CS bachelors. I know my question sort of answers itself (a minor is not a bachelor) but I know I can apply to graduate school for CS with only a minor so I thought maybe this could be similar. After all, the difference between the minor and major only differs by 3-4 courses.

You can use a CS minor to pick up women.

^ done deal. Getting it.

If you are genuinely interested in the subject and apply your skills towards it, that plus the minor will carry you much further than an actual degree by itself will.

The field’s still very much a meritocracy, and as it’s still developing, new technology comes out all the time. The knowledge you get from the actual degree just gives you a well-rounded perspective of mistakes / solutions that others have made, which will allow you to learn faster and be more effective.

There’s really quite a few non-CS majors doing very successfully in the field.

My advice to you: don’t worry too much about the details: take the classes you’re interested in, especially CS184 and all the requirements. You’ll have a good chance.
