CS Transfer

I have a few questions regarding Uconn’s CS program and just general questions about transferring.

I’m currently enrolled in CCSU’s computer science program but have been debating transferring over to Uconn’s cs program. I’m a sophomore with a 3.77 gpa, having taken several math, physics and computer classes.

So one of my questions is, is it even worth transferring? I would most likely have to take an extra semester to make up required classes. I’ve also been researching school/program rank and Uconn seems to be ranked better than CCSU in pretty much every aspect even though it’s not really ranked as having a “top cs program”. Should I just ride it out at Central?

My other question is, how difficult is it really for a transfer student to get into the School of Engineering? I’ve had friends tell me that getting into the SoE is very difficult even as an internal student, some telling me at least a 3.8 gpa is required for consideration.

3.85-3.9 For the school of Engineering and 3.82 for the school of business coming out of high school. It may be different since you are coming out of college and you are doing well!!
