Hello everyone! I would like to get some thoughts on this class. I am very interested in the material and would love to take it but I am already taking two other classes which will demand alot of attention. I would be expecting this class to be my "easier" class, but of course not as easy as a VLPA. I know it will take effort, but will it be excessive? Any information you can give me on this class and its workload would be great, thanks!!!

I think it’s a valuable class that gives one a good foundation for web programming. It won’t teach you everything, but by the end of it you’ll know enough that you’ll be able to easily teach yourself as you do your own projects.

It’s certainly easier than the standard fare of CS courses, but as you said, it will take effort. A lot of it really depends on how much experience you’ve had before with both web development and programming in general, so maybe you should elaborate on that.

The general workload basically consists of a non-trivial project every week. This can take anywhere from 5-15 hours (maybe more? like I said, depends on the person) to output a polished product.

Hey sumzup. Actually, I’m a new CS major so I’ve had experience with different programming languages before. I was interested in this class because my knowledge on web programming topics is scarce. But I decided to take two 300 level CS classes so now 154 probably won’t happen. 3 CS classes in one quarter doesn’t seem like a good idea. I’m definitely interested in these topics but I might just have to self-study them instead. Thanks for your response!
