<p>I am going an as a CE major in the fall and was wondering which would be the better (and easier) choice for me since I'm new to programming.</p>

<p>I was actually talking to some CS people in the department about this and they said that in July-August they’re going to release a placement test you can take which will help you decide which you should probably go into. What you get on the test is just to help you decide and you can still take either class if you choose to(ie you made a few stupid mistakes and it said you should take 8A but you know you can handle 11 based on the questions).</p>
<p>Since your new to programming, you might as well go 8A… and you’ll still easily graduate on time. Plus by deciding now you’re guaranteed a spot to register, since a lot people drop out of cse 11 after the diagnostic exam anyway and try to get in 8a</p>
