You do realize the act you reported on the OP is a 35…
Anyways you’ll get in no problem. My friend got in with a 29 act and a 3.88 uw gpa. Honors program chances : very slim unless your act is actually a 35

I took the ACT three times. Those are my best scores on each subsection, so my it would superscore to a 35 but my highest composite is a 33.

Also a 3.5 unweighted is quite a bit lower than a 3.88

I am going to post some links for you so that you can determine your chances.

Here is the link for the profile of admitted Freshman for the class of 2013:

[Academic Profile](Academic Profile of Fall 2022 Admitted Freshman Applicants by College | Office of Admissions)

Here is a link for the honors program:

[Honors Program Review and Selection Process](University Honors Program | Office of Admissions)

If you scroll down a little bit it gives a table for the profile of admitted applicants to the honors program. This is for the Freshman class of 2012.

Here is a link for scholarships offered by the university:

[University-Wide Scholarships](University-Wide Academic Scholarships | Office of Admissions)

Good luck!

OK I’m pretty unlikely to make honors.

However, it’s difficult for me to tell my chances based off of admissions charts like the one you posted since I’m always above average for the ACT yet below average for gpa/class rank. Therefore, my admission depends on holistic factors and are better judged by people who know how individual universities react to high test score/low gpa combinations

Here is a chart that I found that shows admissions to Minnesota based on ACT scores and GPA:

[University of Minnesota Twin Cities - GPA and Test Scores Needed for Admission](University of Minnesota: Acceptance Rate, SAT/ACT Scores)

Based on the chart, it looks like all applicants that had an ACT score of 33 were admitted as long as their GPA was over a 3.5. If your GPA is a 3.7, then you are looking good for admission based on this chart. I do not know what year this chart is from though, and admission to UMN seems to get more and more competitive each year.

That chart is only for admission the the U as a whole - nothing to do with getting into one of the individual colleges.

I’m not too worried about getting in to the U, just about getting into the Engineering program.

Thanks.

^^^
True, but based on the chart, there are no denials for students that had at least a 33 ACT and a GPA of over 3.5. Although I would take that information w/a grain of salt, I think your chances look pretty good. Hopefully you will hear your decision soon! Waiting for it is so hard!
