CSF Gold cords for graduation

How many years do you have to be in CSF in order to be able to wear the gold cords for graduation?

what's CFS?

i thought 7 semesters?

oops i meant how many years do you have to be in CSF in order to become a Sealbearer

What exactly is CSF? I've heard of it at my school alot (i think it's calif. scholarship federation) but what is it exactly? If you're in the club or whatever is it really great for college admissions or something?

CSF is pretty worthless if you don't volunteer thousands of hours...if you're just a regular member with standard participation, all you get to do is pay numerous membership fees and in return receive a gold tassel, qualification for a stole and a piece paper in your high school diploma that recognizes your membership. To me, if I had known better I would have not bothered with this club as it's a rather common sight on many college applications.

CSF = California Scholarship Federation = No actual scholarships for you unless you manage to get a ranking office

wow that just changed my perspective

okay yeah a lot of kids at my school are in CSF so I was just wonderin thanks

To get "California Federation (CSF) sealbearer"
Student must recieve 10 points each semester for 4 semesters in grades 10-12; one semester must be in the senior year.
A=3 points B= 1 point

7 points must be in academic subjects that meet the university of california requirments. 3 points can be in any other subject except P.E.

If you get this you wear the extra cord at graduation.

Yeah, its really a pointless club. All you get is some gold stole at graduation or a cord or something.

Pointless? Well, at my school, if you're in CSF and tutor for at least ten hours, you can exempt any final you want, as long as you have an A in the class. =)

^lucky you.

and at graduation you can walk in front of the line. that's pretty special.

yea, here at my school those who graduate with CSF honors look really special at graduation and get special seating away from everyone else

so if i was accepted the first semester of my sophomore year and not the second semester is there still a chance i could get gold still?

@crystalio - When OP made this thread you were in 4th grade. Let that sink in a little bit. Kudos for using the search bar, but you should start checking the dates on these things next…

And you need 4 semesters of participation to be a gold seal-bearer. It might have been different eight years ago, but it’s not that big a deal now–pass your classes and you too can be the owner of a distinguished CSF gold cord!
