Just wondering if anyone has done the CSI summer program and what they thought of it, ie. hard?, fun?, etc.

I did it. I thought it was really fun and easy (but it can be Hell if you take the wrong class/professor). I felt like it was a nice transition, indeed, and you’ll never really have a class with all incoming freshmen ever again. It was very chill, and I had a lot of free time. I thought that the housing option (Saxon Suites) could have been better, though (too antisocial).

I really enjoyed it, but I’m sure peoples experiences can differ. I met A LOT of good friends that I still see often and spend a lot of time with. It’s really easy to meet people since you’ll be living on the same floor with the people that are in your classes. (which makes it easier to study for the midterms and final) However, you do have to realize that summer school classes are much more fast-paced than during the regular school year, and (for Chem at least), you have a midterm/final every two weeks since it’s only a six week course. It does seem like the material is a bit simplified and they take into account that it’s a “transition program” so it’s somewhat easier/more lenient than what you’ll expect in the fall. It’s a great way to learn your way around the campus and get into the hang of things, so you’ll be ahead of most of your peers come fall.

so, yeah it’s fun and it’s not very hard, just fast paced. If you can afford it, I definitely recommend it. You can PM me or post here if you have any more questions about it… I don’t think there’s too many people on CC that have done the program

Can you describe your experience in chem 20a through csi?

Last year I don’t think they offerred Chem 20A, only 14A, so I can’t speak much to that. But I’m assuming that it might be a bit simpler than it will be during the fall, but certainly a much faster pace still since you’re squeezing approximately 10 weeks of chem into 6 weeks.

Do you know if there are any course notes/ practice tests online that I can look over/work on to prepare for chem 20a?
