Is anyone here attending the College Summer Institute? I'm planning on attending but am curious if anyone else intends to as well.
Also, for those who have done it in the past, what has your experience been like? Do many people go to it each year? Are there activities/events that students go to together (as part of CSI) outside of classes?

Bump anyone?

I did it a couple of years ago, and loved it! It’s cool because you go to orientation and then right after it you start class. There were a lot of people doing it, I think maybe 2 or 3 floors of rieber terrace. Everyone in the program lives in the same place, so you’ll be living with/near your classmates, and all the classes are freshmen/CSI only. There were optional CSI events like once every other weekend, but I only went to the disneyland one. Basically the only mandatory event was a meeting right after orientation ended about the program and then it’s pretty just attending classes in the summer. And there are no clubs or anything at ucla in the summer so everyone has loads of free time (outside of homework), as opposed to during the year when everyone joins 6 clubs and you barely see them once a month Great way to make friends and get a feel for campus before everyone else.

@tedders83 Thanks so much for your insight!

@tedders83 I forgot to mention, how were the classes during CSI compared to during the school year? Were they harder, easier? And how were your profs during CSI?

Varies between every class. I had a good PoliSci class.
