<p>I've never actually watched CSI: Las Vegas, even though I live in Vegas, but UNLV is nothing like how you're describing ULV. I have friends who go to UNLV and the worst crime they've told me about is people's cars being broken into. If there were homicides at UNLV, it would be all over the news here, but I've lived here for over 10 years and I've never heard of it.</p>
<p>My mom used to work for UNLV back during the late 70s and 80s and she's shared with me stories of how Coach Tarkanian's agent was found dead in the back of a trunk, and how one of her friends dad (a big time lawyer) was killed by a car bomb planted by the mob. It's gotten better especially as the LDS church has grown in vegas, but it's still a dangerous city.</p>
