CSOM v. VBS admission

From reading these threads I think CSOM will be a reach for my daughter - 95 WGPA, 1370/2040 SAT scores, plus typical community service/ECs/sports - but I’d appreciate any input on a comparison to Villanova Business School. We’ve gotten mixed information from our guidance counselor and other sources as to whether VBS is a less competitive admit than CSOM. Thank you.

Duuno about CSOM specifically but in general, girls are sought after by undergrad B-schools so they get a “tip” factor in admissions.

Good luck.

Sunny, do you know what concentration your daughter is looking at? I think that is important when comparing the two business schools.

Management with possibly a double major or minor in communication

What about Asian males majoring in Marketing at both schools?

Just general management? Not something more specific like accounting, finance, marketing, etc.?

Villanova, overall as well, is not as competitive as Boston College. You could compare the acceptance threads. Also, Nova only gives substantial scholarships to minorities i believe.

I’ll probably be bias as I can only speak to BC (senior in CSOM now). I find the professors here to be really strong and very good at placing students with jobs (at least in finance). The accounting department has been voted one of the best and is definitely true. Most students I know majoring in accounting have jobs with many of the big four firms. For finance jobs, I know people going to Barclays, Citi, JP Morgan, Goldman, etc. I think our business school is very strong and only getting stronger. Hope this helps. Feel free to ask me any questions.
