<p>Hi folks! Just got back from Colorado (our son started his Ops assignment last week). Thought it might be a lighter note to start a thread about restaurants near the Academy. Wouldn’t have bothered except my wife and I tried a new restaurant a mile or two south on Academy Drive called “Red, Hot, and Blue”. It’s a Memphis style barbecue place, reasonably priced, and as good as any I’ve ever had (and that’s coming from a Texan who likes barbecue!). Does anyone else out there have some suggestions for us?</p>
<p>BTW congrats to the class of 2011! Guess it’ll be a while before they need restaurant suggestions.</p>
<p>There are a TON of restaurants along Academy Boulevard, pretty much any style of food you can think of is accounted for. One place I was impressed with was a steakhouse, Saltgrass. I don't know if any of you are familiar with it, but it doesn't exist out on the East Coast where I'm from.</p>
<p>I eat Saltgrass a lot here at home. I love Saltgrass.
Also being a Texan, I enjoyed Famous Dave's BBQ right outside of the Southgate.

<p>Famous Dave's has always been a favorite for me along with Red Robin and Panera. BBQ, hamburgers, or sandwiches...one of 'em oughta be your style.</p>
