I filled out the CSS Profile in October because the two schools that I applied to early action wanted it filled out by November 1. I submitted it to those two schools, plus two other schools that I planned to apply to regular decision, just because I figured that while I had it done I might as well send it to schools I knew I would be applying to. The problem is that now that I'm starting to submit my regular decision applications, I'm wondering if I should have waited until I had my parents' tax forms for 2013 and submitted an updated version of the CSS to those schools? Should I still send an updated version? (No significant changes in m family's financial situation between this year and last.) Will submitting the CSS early have any bearing on what I can do through the College Board's IDOC Service? For the two early action applications, I sent tax returns in through the mail. You use IDOC for RD right? Will I still receive that IDOC email in February since I've sent in the CSS early?

You need to contact the colleges to find out how they want the Profile updated. You can NOT update it online once you have submitted it. The schools will tell you…and believe me, it will vary, so contact them all.

Some Profile schools do NOT participate in IDOC.

Check EACH college website for their financial aid submission requirements and deadlines. Again…lots of variation so check each one carefully.
