I have a problem. I mentioned in my common app that my parents' highest degree of education is some high school, but on the css profile a
app, I wrote it's some college or beyond because they both did go to college but they didn't graduate, so I didn't know what to put. Will this affect my chances of getting in?

Put what is HONEST. If they completed some college…you need to put that.

Call your colleges…all of them…and tell them you made a mistake, and wish to correct it.

What were you thinking when you put the wrong info on your common ap?

No. It may come up in some first generation scholarships for which those students are the very first to go to college in their famiy. If it does, you do have to let them know your parents did have some college.

Some schools want to know what is highest completed.
A few community college courses do not measure the same as a degree and the applicant can still be considered first gen college, and the colleges are very interested in students without that background.
