CSS Profile updates after submission

I just submitted my FAFSA and CSS using estimates from 2011. When IDOC and DRT are finally available and I upload the corrected 2012 tax info, do I still have to snail mail the updates by printing out the "estimated" Profile and handwriting the corrections? I emailed one of my colleges that uses the Profile, and one of the officers said, "It will not be necessary to update the CSS Profile. The final numbers you provide on the FAFSA will override any numbers you've previously submitted."

You need to ask each school what they need for the corrections. Some may want the pen and ink changes.

Hope it is not very late.

CollegeBoard suggested to print out the CCS PROFILE Acknowledgement, make correction with pens, and mail to the colleges. I also asked the same question to the colleges admission office. For those colleges my D applied, they all wanted the Acknowledgement with correct figures. Some required postal mailing and some can fax or email.

There are different date for CCS PROFILE filing for each college. I will wait until I receive most, if not all the tax documents before sending the correct Acknowledgement.
