CSS - Simply not filling it out?

Assuming I have filled out FAFSA, what would happen if (For one reason or another), I do not fill out CSS as well? Fordham and Vanderbilt both have financial aid deadlines set for today's date. What would happen if my CSS is not submitted until after today?

In case anyone has any information on specific schools, the schools to which I would be sending CSS are:
Fordham University
Tulane University
University of Michigan
Vanderbilt

If they require CSS they will not consider you for financial aid if you do not fill it out.

Well...as stated, if the school requires the Profile, they will not process your request for financial aid without it.

Re: those schools...you can check the websites for each of those schools yourself to determine their deadlines for the financial aid forms.

I would suggest that you do the Profile ASAP.

If a school does not use FAFSA only, you must fill out the PROFILE or whatever other form they require to get money from the school. THe EFC that is the result of those forms may differ from FAFSA. You will be entitled to get government money with the FAFSA only, but to get any money from the school you need the forms they request. If you qualify for the PELL grant, for example, you would get that regardless of whether you fill out the PROFILE or other forms, and you will also be eligible for Stafford loans. Any state money would also be available to you.

You might wish to note that a lion's share of the aid offered is institutional and you will not be eligible for it without submitting the CSS.

However, I believe you still have time to file the CSS for U of M...I think the financial aid office begins working up the packages Feb. 15.
