CSU A-G mistake :(

I recently submitted my application. When I was about to submit my application towards the end, it showed my A-G courses, and it said some might have been missing. It also showed me some that were supposedly not part of the A-G courses. It currently shows that I’m missing one more year of English and one more year of another language other than English. I’m currently completing my 4th year of English and during my sophomore year I took Arabic. I did add those classes to my application. However, at the time I submitted the application I didn’t know I could manually match them with the A-G programs, I thought it automatically did it. I submitted the application like that because I thought it was going to correct itself. Now I’m worried since I don’t know if it’s going to affect me, especially since I know I can’t edit them anymore. Do you think it would make my application get denied?

It may get booted out but you need to immediately contact your counselor, send an email and make a phone call and leave a message, and inform her/him about what happened.

Also: you can contact the UC support center. They currently have hours:
800) 207-1710 (within the U.S.)
Nov. 28-30: 8 a.m. - midnight PST

https://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/contact-us.html

You may have to contact each UC where you have sent your application. Call. Then send a follow-up email.

From the Cal State Apply Website:

I made a mistake on my application. How can I make corrections?
After you submit your application, you can’t make any changes. Contact your campus(es) directly with any updated information. For more information, see the Updating Your Cal State Apply Applicationsection.

As stated by @aunt_bea, also work with your Counselor to make sure you have submitted everything correctly. Missing English is a Red Flag and as noted, your CSU application could be kicked out of the system.

Keep any and all documentation you receive from the CSU’s regarding your mistake in case you need to file an appeal. Also be aware that that many of the campuses will not allow you make changes to the application but will place your email regarding the mistake in your file for review later.

Best of luck.

My bad!
Please contact your counselor, but you can also look at your status page.

Just from personal experience, checking the status will help but not a guarantee that the campuses will notify you if something is wrong with the application.

My friends son applied to 4 CSU’s and not one notified him that he was missing English. He forgot to report his Senior English class. Only after being denied by his local CSU (CSULB) did he review his submitted application and realized he missed reporting the English class. He called admissions which asked for his HS transcript and then he was admitted.

Hello, thank you for responding. I reported the classes the application. If they go and check my classes the 4th year of English and the 2nd year of another language should be there. However, on the required classes it does show that I’m missing it since the classes were not connecting to an A-G course. :frowning:

Since it is only the A-G matching that is off, it should not be as big of an issue.

Please update if you hear back from the schools. Fingers crossed.
