Hi all!!
Does anyone could help me about describing engineering sciences emphasis petroleum engineering in CSUB? does this school worth for petroleum engineering program? because I recently got accepted in their petroleum engineering and I have no idea at all with CSUB. thanks all !!
CSUB is fine. I would not limit myself to a petroleum engineering degree for undergrad.
Major in electrical or mechanical. You never know what the oil market will be like in 4 years at graduation.
A more general undergraduate degree will offer more variety of opportunities.
If you want to stay and work in CA, petroleum engineering will not be a long term career given the states environmental policies.
Thanks for the input. I was thinking to put my emphasis on Petroleum Engineering in Bakersfield because I expect myself to be offered with potential career opportunities after I graduate since one of the biggest oil field is located in Bakersfield. Also, I think there are chances of experiencing a hands-on learning from my major which is just what I need to jump start my career. Or, I might use the degree to work in my country. Do you think this is a good plan? @UCBChemEGrad
I agree, a broader major is probably a good idea. Visit the campus and check out the area before committing.
