CSU FALL 2016 TRANSFERS

Rejected from San Diego State. Pretty ridiculous. 3.7 GPA but since I’m not in San Diego area I’m denied

Oh well, was going to UCSB even if I got in

@pokeiman Thank you for the info! Yeah, they been lagging and it’s a bit odd that they are taking so long given that I applied to CSUN in the first two weeks applications were opened.

Just got admitted to Sac State as mechanical engineer.

As of now, I’m in on Cal State LA(mechanical engineering), Cal Poly Pomona(industrial engineering), and Sac State(mechanical engineering).

This wait for CSUN is ridiculous. Most likely, I will take Cal State LA because it’s close to me and I made the decision not to move back to Nor Cal for now. Plus, I am more interested in mechanical engineering.

I was deciding between SDSU and Cal Ploy Pomona, but the aid for cpp is too low, so its SDSU if i go to a CSU. It sucks, because I went and had brunch at CPP last week and it was #1 out if the schools ive been accepted to.

Has anyone heard from Fullerton? I applied as an accounting transfer and have a 3.65 GPA with IGETC finished and missing one pre req (business law). Idk if I’m going to be denied based on missing that pre req I hope not.

I got rejected from CSULA and still waiting to hear back from Cal Poly Pomona.

@Rey22David definitely go to SDSU if you can. everyone that i know who applied from a CC in san diego didn’t get in and are super bummed because it’s been so competitive because it’s an amazing school. If you have the opportunity to I would do it, San Diego is such a beautiful place. I visited CPP and it was just so small and seemed like it was surrounded by farm lands. Every one has their preference though, but I think it depends on what your major is.

@chaseguy750 I got rejected from Fullerton in January for classical guitar performance but CSUF now has one of the best programs in the country ran by Martha Masters and Andrew York so I wasn’t surprised. I know many people heard back very early from Fullerton but Good luck and keep us updated.
P.S did you apply anywhere else?

@UCmathematics thanks! I got into Long Beach (accounting), Cal Poly Pomona (accounting), and UCSB (pre-economics and accounting) so far. I got denied from SLO unfortunately. I am still waiting to hear from CSUF, CSUN, University of San Francisco, and USC.

@pokeiman I live in SD now, and would rather leave SD for school, experience something different. SDSU is a better school for my major, international business, than CPP i think, and I wont have to take out a loan, so i will probably end up there if i dont get into the UCs i want at a reasonable price.

@ray50117 Have you looked into SJSU? They have an excellent Engineering department. Plus you’ll be able to do a lot of networking.

Well I passed the WST for San Jose State, I’m still deciding if I should apply to their humanities honors program. Which they told me I’m eligible for.

@LadyRaven I am also planning to go to San Jose State, did you have to do the orientation before you take the WST? If you did the orientation, how was it? Also how was the WST? Are you a transfer student?

I got in with CSULB and CSULA with a 3.6 ADT in Bus Admin.

Any opinions one way or the other? I’ve already confirmed admission with LB because I hear it edges out CSULA slightly. Still waiting on USC, although they requested my spring grades first…

Please, could someone tell me the likelihood. I have a 4.0 ADT in Kinesiology from OCC. I’m wondering if my chances are lowered if I’m applying for spring admission. Also, I’ve only been in CC for a year and was wondering if that plays any factor. Thank you!

@LadyRaven Actually, I have not looked into SJSU.

@UCmathematics Sorry to randomly tag you, but talking about the classical guitar major reminded me of my cousin :stuck_out_tongue: He was majoring in that and he was having a really hard time. He failed about two classes and was eventually asked to leave CSUF. He went to CC for summer and spring semesters and was able to return to CSUF. It does sound like a really tough major because he’s a smart dude and has been playing the guitar forever.

@zettasyntax Its okay! And about your cousin- that’s awesome! Being a music major, especially classical guitar performance, is hard as shit since it’s so god damn demanding and CSUF, like I said, has one of the best programs in the nation now with Martha Masters running it. I’m glad he made it. I’ve been playing about 8 years and although I got into Cal poly and SJSU for music, I decided to opt out and pursue something else. Its not for everyone!

@LadyRaven Did the WST seem difficult?
