I haven’t seen many students trying to transfer from a CSU to a UC on the other forums lately… So I decided to make one!
I’m coming from San Francisco State as a junior transfer!
Applied to: UCLA, UCSD, Davis, Irvine, UCSC, UCSB, and Riverside.
Major: Economics/Business Econ
Overall GPA: 3.81 (3.87 expected by end of fall 15 semester)
Major GPA: 3.71 (B in calc 2)
Prerequisites: Finished!
ECs: Didn’t do much while in college but listed high school EC’s along with a lot of work experience since that’s what I do with all my time… 20 hours work study student assistant and financial adviser for family business.
I’m doubting my units transferring and reaching the 60 unit limit, but that’s just me being paranoid. I met with a UC Berkeley adviser to discuss courses but even they could not completely confirm transferable courses… weird… Hoping things go smoothly.
I’m a CSU>CC>UC so I guess I’m not exactly what you’re looking for but eh.
Applied: Berkeley, LA, SD, Irvine
Major: Statistics
GPA: 4
Major GPA: 4
Pre-reqs: last one in Spring
ECs: Job last year, coached high school sports this year
Tagged into Irvine, confident admit into SD, but worried about LA and Berkeley, having had 30 units from a CSU.
Helloo, I wonder how many csu to uc transfers there will be this year?
I’m applying from SDSU as a junior
Applying to- UCB, UCD, UCSD, UCLA
Stats are-
Major: Computer Science
Before Fall 2015, Major GPA: 4.0 after: 3.98
Before Fall 2015, Overall GPA: 3.98 after:3.98
Total Units by the end of Spring: 80
When applying: 61
Prereqs: there is one class that Berkeley wants which I can’t find at SDSU, otherwise finished
EC: work, develop apps on the free time, volunteering
Personal Statements: I think they’re okay. 7-8/10
Really hoping I get into a school near the bay area! I live there and miss it
Hi! I’m actually a transfer from a 4year foreign university. We have this program with courses which is almost similar as what students would take in a CC. Therefore I’ve completed almost all my GE with around 50 credits. So I was wondering if I transfer to CSU for like 1 semester, and then apply to transfer to UC, is it possible? Because I might be entering CSU as a junior already. If I’m doing this, how do they calculate my credits? Does anyone have friends who had done this before?
@janeylynn yes I am! I’m really nervous about my units tansferring over… Which school did you end up going to? I actually was admitted to Long Beach for next year!
@pugzandhugz Yeah I was too! I actually had to retake a lot of my courses (but I didn’t consult an advisor at the UC I wanted to transfer to as I should have to make sure that the courses would actually go over), but it’s definitely worth it! I chose UCLA because they gave me a scholarship (that isn’t available to CSU transfers at UCSD or UCI). And that’s great!! It’s a great school, but hopefully you get into the UC’s you apply to! I think I found out March 20th’s (but I can’t really recall now!)
Hi guys! I didn’t know that there was a thread for CSU -> UC transfers!
I’m a little late to the party but here are my stats:
I am applying from CSUSM, currently a CS major there.
Applied to: UCSD (I also applied to SDSU)
Major: ICAM (Visual Arts Major)
Overall GPA: 3.91
Major GPA: 3.91
Prerequisites: Most of the pre-reqs for this major are not available at my school or the CC in my area. I will have my math requirement done by this semester.
ECs: I forgot to file my ECs on my application… but I did email them a document of my ECs after the fact and they accepted it and added it to my application/file for UCSD to view (so hopefully everything is okay).
I also submitted an additional application for the major I applied for (5 art pieces and another essay :(( LOL ).
Good luck to everyone! Hopefully we hear back soon!
UCR. It’s the only UC I’m considering for financial reasons. I did apply to other UCs because of the fee waiver but I think that was a silly decision since I knew I was only considering UCR.
But I did get into a few CSUs and well, I still haven’t made my decision. haha
