CSU Long Beach Out of State Transfer | Animation

Hello all! I’m from Florida and looking to apply to CSU Long Beach and Fullerton for the Animation/Illustration programs. After reviewing CSU tuition for OOS students it seems to be the cheapest out of all California schools but reportedly really hard to get into? My Associates here qualifies for the general ed portion of the curriculum and I have 70 credits worth for transferring. Not all will be taken but I was wondering how hard will it be for me to get accepted? I already have a short film made, portfolio ready to go, and a mentorship with a Industry giant under my belt. My GPA is about a 3.3-ish maybe up to a 3.4 after this semester. I’m in good standing with my school and all my classes. Will CSU favor Cali residents over a little Floridian? lol

Any advice is appreciated.

All Cal States favor in-state and local applicants but being a full pay OOS transfer could help your chances. Your GPA is within range so best of luck. The average transfer GPA last year was 3.32 but this is not major specific.
